Model code of conduct comes into effect; Collector cancels all grievance meetings until elections

Coimbatore : Following the announcement of election dates, the model code of conduct has comes into effect.


Coimbatore : Following the announcement of election dates, the model code of conduct has comes into effect.

The District Collector, K. Rajamani has hence cancelled the grievance meetings scheduled every Monday. He also announced that all grievances and farmers redressal meetings stand cancelled till the elections. 

The Model Code of Conduct comes into force immediately after the announcement of the election schedule by the election commission for the need of ensuring free and fair elections and to avert communal clashes and corrupt practices.
