Parcel train service between Coimbatore and Delhi started

Southern Railway has launched the first weekly parcel cargo express train service from Coimbatore to the capital Delhi Patel Nagar for the first time for export of all agricultural products and food items.


Coimbatore: Gautam Srinivas, Divisional Manager, Salem Railway, Saturday flagged off the weekly cargo express train service from Coimbatore to Delhi Patel Nagar.



Coimbatore is one of the most industrialized districts in South India known as Manchester. In particular, much of the materials needed for factories are exported and imported from outside states.



Southern Railway has launched the first weekly parcel cargo express train service from Coimbatore to the capital Delhi Patel Nagar for the first time for export of all agricultural products and food items.

Parcel train services are available from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem and Renigunta. Similarly, parcel trains will run twice a week from next month, according to Parcel Agencies Anil Bareja and the Railway Department.
