'Devotees not allowed in four temples including Perur and Marudhamalai on Amavasai' Coimbatore District Collector

In an effort to curb any further spread of Covid-19, the Coimbatore District Collector has closed four major temples, including Perur and Marudhamalai temple on the occasion of Amavasai, today


Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran has announced that devotees will not be allowed in four temples, including Perur and Marudhamalai to avoid large crowds ahead of Amavasai which is being observed today.

"As a precaution against Coronavirus infection, restrictions have been imposed on temples, including shutting temples on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to avoid crowds. In addition, further restrictions have been imposed in Coimbatore district since September 1 to curb fresh cases of Covid-19.

Devotees are not allowed to offer prayers at the Perur Patteeswaraswamy Temple, Marudhamalai Subramaniaswamy Temple, Thekkampatti Vanabadrakaliamman Temple and Anaimalai Masaniyamman Temple to avoid overcrowding in temples on September 6, the day of Amavasai. Pujas for Swami will continue to be held in these temples," he assured.
