New changes have been made for TASMAC operations from Thursday even as new curfew guidelines come into effect across Tamil Nadu

With the second wave of Covid-19 sweeping across Tamil Nadu, new restrictions have been clamped across districts.

Coimbatore: According to Government guidelines, all shops will be open only till 12 noon from Thursday. Similarly, the Tamil Nadu Government has ordered TASMAC liquor stores to open at 8 am and close at 12 noon.

With the second wave of Covid-19 sweeping across Tamil Nadu, new restrictions have been clamped across all districts. In line with these restrictions, TASMAC liquor stores which have been opening at 12 noon and close at 9 pm will now have to open at 8 am and close at 12 noon.

With bars being ordered to shut down due to the spread of Covid-19 and TASMAC stores across Tamil Nadu not being able to open at the regular timings due to the curfew, TASMAC revenue has been on a decline since all liquor stores have been ordered to be closed on Saturdays and Sundays, since last week.

Even though liquor consumers have been hoarding up stock since last year's Covid restrictions, the new restrictions that will come into effect from Thursday have come as a shock to them.
