Parents can decide caste of children born out of inter-caste marriage: Government

A new government order has been issued regarding the community certificate for children born to parents who had inter-caste marriage.



Coimbatore: A crucial government order has been issued regarding the issue of community certificates for the children born to parents who had intercaste marriage.

Oppressed people's welfare department Secretary Chandramohan issued a government order todayregarding the community certificates for children who are born to parents who had an inter-caste marriage.

In the government order it is said that a child born to parents who had an inter-caste marriage will be given a community certificate either by taking the caste of the father's side or the caste of the mother's side. Parents will be given the option to decide regarding the choice.

Government officials are directed to issue community certificates as per parent's decision. Also in the case of 2 or more children, the community will be filled based on the records of the elder child.
