TN CM declares Thai Poosam as public holiday

Chennai: Bringing much joy amid Lord Muruga devotees, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy has declared "Thai Poosam" as State public holiday.


Chennai: Bringing much joy amid Lord Muruga devotees, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy has declared "Thai Poosam" as State public holiday.

"Thai Poosam", an important festivity celebrated across all Murugar temples across the globe garners lakhs of devotees. In Coimbatore, lakhs of devotees throng the Arulmigu Subramaniyar Temple in Marudhamalai.

Though this year, the festivity which is to be celebrated on January 28 will be a low key affair due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the state holiday announcement by TN CM is much welcomed by the devotees.
