10 thousand police deployed for security across West Zone for New Year Celebration


Coimbatore: 10 thousand police deployed for security across West Zone for New Year Celebration. According to a press release issued by the West Zone Police, IG Periyayya, the public is requested to respect the rules of the road and celebrate the New Year without road accidents.

He said, "New Year's Day celebrations must be organized according to the rules. Tonight (Thursday) the police have been ordered to take stern action against those who violate the law and order, going on jolly rides by overspeeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, and those who engage in criminal activities. Security has been beefed up at bus stands, hospitals, cinema theaters and places of worship where the public is more likely to be present."

He added, "As many as 10,000 policemen will be deployed in the west zone on New Year's Eve. Therefore, the public, the youth and all must cooperate with the police who continue to work day and night, and we must all take action in an accident-free, safe 2021. Happy New Year to all."
