Coimbatore: 436 additional buses to be operated from TNSTC Coimbatore division for Deepavali


Coimbatore: To manage the festive crowd and avoid over crowding of passengers due to the pandemic situation, the Coimbatore division of TNSTC has decided to operate a total of 436 special buses from Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode and Tirupur districts to various outstations.

As Deepavali is all set to be celebrated across the country on the November 14, buses and railway stations will be flooded with people to travel to their hometowns. With the Coronavirus outbreak, the transport departments have geared up to operate adequate number of buses to ensure social distancing, while travel.

With just another week to go for Deepavali, the Coimbatore division of TNSTC has announced special busesfor outstations. According to an official here, a total of 436 special buses --186 buses from Coimbatore district, 50 from Nilgiris district, 110 from Erode district and 90 from Tirupur district will be operated from November 12 onwards."

For the convenience of the passengers, to return back to their respective places after the festivity, the operation of these additional buses will be extended till 16th of this month, he added.
