The Nilgiris: Resumption of Nilgiri Mountain Train Service rescheduled - Southern Railway announces

The Nilgiris: The Southern Railway earlier announced that the Nilgiri Mountain Train Service, which was suspended from March 20 due to COVID outbreak, will resume from tomorrow, October 10, between Coonoor and Ooty.

This being the case, the Southern Railway has announced that the resumption has been postponed.

Tourists from all over Indian and abroad who visit the Nilgiris are very interested in traveling by the train. Due to corona infections, the mountain train service was completely stopped.

Mettupalayam-Coonoor and Ooty-Coonoor train services were suspended. In this situation, the Southern Railway had on Thursday accepted the request of the District Administration to run the mountain train from October the 10th between Ooty and Coonoor for the benefit of tourists who avail E-passes to visit the Nilgiris.

Under the circumstances, the resumption of mountain train service has been canceled and will be announced later, the Southern Railway said.
