Chennai and four other districts will be completely locked down from June 19, as per the orders of the TN government. Chennai, Chengalpet, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram will be under complete lockdown beginning June 19, for

12 days.

The spread of COVID-19 has been increasing rapidly in TN. Districts such as Chennai, Chengalpet, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram have seen a steep rise in the number of cases. The TN Cabinet advisory meeting regarding this was held today. Following the discussion, the TN government announced that the four districts of Chennai, Chengalpet, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram will go into full-fledged lockdown starting June 19, for 12 days.

Hospitals, medical testing centers, ambulance services will function as usual. Grocery stores, vegetable shops and petrol bunks will be open until 2 PM, as per the announcement.
