75 locations earmarked as high volume traffic areas; city police to lend a helping hand to traffic police

Coimbatore : The city police have ear-marked 75 junctions and roads in the city, as high volume traffic areas. In a bid to regulate the traffic in these areas, city police will be deployed during peak hours at these areas to regulate traffic.



Coimbatore : The city police have ear-marked 75 junctions and roads in the city, as high volume traffic areas. In a bid to regulate the traffic in these areas, city police will be deployed during peak hours at these areas to regulate traffic. 

On Tuesday, the city police were engaged in easing traffic congestion in these 75 identified locations between 8:30 am to 10:30 am and between 5 pm.

Owing to bridge construction works in Ukkadam and Trichy road, the city police have geared up with traffic police to devise ways to ease free flow of vehicles, thus prevent accidents and traffic congestions.

According to Police Commissioner, Sumit Sharan, the city police would lend a helping hand from now on and will be engaged in regulating traffic congestion in the city.
