Job opportunities for engineering students have increased - Mayilsamy Annadurai

Scientist Mayilsamy Annadurai speaking at Karpagam Institutions yesterday, advised the students that job opportunities for engineering students are on the rise in Japan and since there is a shortage of youth in that country, we should take advantage of it.

Coimbatore: Scientist Mayilsamy Annadurai has said that job opportunities for engineering students are on the rise.

A function was held to welcome the first year engineering students of Karpagam Deemed To be University in Echanari area of Coimbatore yesterday. Former ISRO Director Mayilsamy Annadurai was the chief guest.

Addressing the students, he highlighted the importance of engineering studies.

Speaking to reporters, Mayilsamy Annadurai said,

A lot of opportunities are emerging in engineering courses. I am trying to convey to the students that there are a lot of opportunities towards India.

Especially in Japan, a lot of employment opportunities are going to be created. We have to take advantage of those job opportunities as there are fewer young people there. I don't know what the computer coding will look like after 5 years.

But if you study engineering, your life will be better. Next comes the space revolution. There are chances that the next generation of handsets, which will be powered by satellites, will come in such a way that there is no cell phone tower.

The launch pad at Kulasekara will be the best centre in the world. There will be a need to send missiles on a commercial basis day by day. Missions to the moon are going to make many changes and can prevent warming.

The next phase of research should be centered on the moon. You have to take what's on the moon and do research. If a few tons of elements are brought from the moon, there is a possibility of using it to provide energy to the big countries.

Initiatives are being taken to ensure that a lot of space courses come up, One STEM centre is being set up for the district and we are taking steps to set up a STEM centre at Kinathukadavu school. The success of Chandrayaan is being closely watched by the international community.

Our efforts have been economical and efficient. The presence of water on the moon and the landing of Chandrayaan in the polar region are being closely watched. It is also important to understand the climate of space and bring in agriculture like the space sector. The journeys towards it are also good.

Air travel can also be changed with the technology that goes into space, and in rocket technology there are opportunities to travel quickly and safely from one place to another.

To go to the moon, we have to go with other countries with an international memorandum of understanding and each country should go together and carry out the study with all the countries without going separately. A space station should be set up on the moon.

We have put forward the idea that Chandrayaan-3 should be set up at the landing site. Discussions are heading towards this. Scientist Mayilsamy Annadurai said.
