Coimbatore: The spirit of Onam, the vibrant and traditional festival of Kerala, came alive at the Karpagam Institute of Technology on August 25, 2023.

The event, organized by the Fine Arts Club of the Institute, aimed to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Kerala and promote a sense of unity among the diverse student body. The Onam celebration was a delightful blend of tradition and modernity, with various activities and performances that highlighted the essence of the festival.



The celebration commenced with grand floral arrangements, known as 'Pookkolam,' which was created collectively by students. The intricate and captivating designs showcased the creativity and artistic talents of the students. The event continued with a series of engaging activities, including the traditional dance, where students participated with great enthusiasm, fostering a sense of friendly competition. Students presented classical and folk dance performances, capturing the essence of Kerala's rich artistic heritage.

Principal Dr. P. Manimaran, Vice Principal Dr. D. Bhanu, Head of Departments, Faculty members and Students joined together to relish this traditional feast, creating a sense of unity and camaraderie. The graceful movements and vibrant costumes mesmerized everyone, transporting them to the heart of Kerala's cultural milieu. The Principal expressed his delight at the successful celebration of Onam on the campus. He emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions and fostering a sense of unity among the students, irrespective of their backgrounds.
