Coimbatore: Karpagam Institute of Technology in Coimbatore organized an essay-writing competition on Media’s portrayal of news on Sexual Harassment.
The Women's Empowerment Club of Karpagam Institute, in association with Anna University-POSH CELL and the Institution’s Innovation Council, organized an Essay Writing and Speech Competition on 'Media News on Sexual Harassment – Observe, Explain and Provide a Solution' on March 3, at 10 am in the Seminar Hall.
The program focused on making students observe and express their opinions on such sexual harassment incidents and also provide solutions to stop sexual harassment which has been on the rise.
The Essay Writing and Speech Competition was held for students to become more self-assured and better writers and orators, allowing them to freely express their opinions on any issues. The judges for the competition were Dr. B Chellaprabha, Dr. N Suma and Dr. C Vimalarani.
A total of 30 students participated and received appreciation for their efforts.
The winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes.
