Four PSG Institutions feature in the NIRF Ranking

Coimbatore: PSG Institutions continue to hold their flag high in the Academic Sphere. For close to a century, PSG's various educational Institutions which is run by PSG Sons & Charities has been the torch bearer of academic excellence in Coimbatore. Not only in Coimbatore, the reputation of PSG's Educational Institutions have always had nationwide repute. The colleges in particular have had very highly notable alumni who have excelled in various domains over several decades. 

Continuing their excellence in education, four of PSG's Educational Institutions have featured in the nationwide NIRF ranking.

It has not come as a surprise that four PSG Institutions namely PSG TECH, PSGCAS, PSG IM, PSG College of Pharmacy have figured among the top Institutions in the national level NIRF ranking."

About PSG Institutions 

PSG & Sons’ Charities was established in 1926 with the purpose of augmenting the Sarvajana school which was started when a family member was denied admission in British run school. Four brothers PSG Venkataswamy Naidu, PSG Rangaswamy Naidu, PSG Ganga Naidu and PSG Narayanaswamy Naidu voluntarily divided their ancestral properties into five parts, reserving the one fifth amounting to 2.01 lakhs to create the charity.

PSG Industrial Institute was established in 1926 by PSG and Sons Charities in Peelamedu, Coimbatore. The engineering college was started in the institute campus in 1951 by G. R. Damodaran, who became its first principal. The college was conferred autonomous status by University of Madras in 1978, which was continued by the Bharathiar University and subsequently by Anna University since 2001.

PSG College of Arts and Science was started in 1947 by the PSG and Sons Charities which was founded in 1926 by the four sons of P.S. Govindasamy Naidu. The college was affiliated to Madras University till 1978. The college became autonomous and affiliated to Bharathiar University since 1978. It is one of the first Arts and Science college in Tamil Nadu to get the autonomous status. The college was identified as a College with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission (India) in October 2004. It is one among 47 colleges in the country, 8 in the State and the only one in Bharathiar University.The college has been accredited at the FIVE STAR level by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and became an ISO 9001: 1994 certified institution in 2001 and subsequently an ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution since 2003.
