PSUs, corporate houses to join voting-awareness campaign

The Election Officer for Coimbatore region has asked the officials of the Public Sector Undertakings and corporate houses to create awareness among its staff on the importance of voting responsibly.

Officers from PSUs like Indian Oil Corporation, Larsen and Toubro, and Southern India Mills Association participated in the meeting.

During a meeting of the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), held under the chairmanship of the Election Officer and District Collector, Archana Patnaik, the officers were told to obtain pledges from the staff to achieve 100 percent voting.

The district collector explained the steps taken to improve voter turnout and create awareness on ethical voting.

Authorities of Coimbatore's TIDEL Park were asked to obtain pledges from the employees that they will cast their votes.
