Innovative Theft of Small Onions and Vehicle Valued at 7 Lakhs in Dharapuram

In an unusual theft in Gundadam near Dharapuram, onions and a vehicle worth 7 lakh rupees were stolen from a local trader. The police have initiated an investigation.

Coimbatore: In a cunning heist, onions and a vehicle with a combined value of Rs. 7 lakhs were stolen from Balusamy, a small onion trader from the New Navakkombu area of Gundadam near Dharapuram. Balusamy, aged 43, had been actively transporting small onions to various districts via private lorry services. Recently, he arranged for a vehicle through a private lorry service in Udumalai to send onions to Thoothukudi. However, after the vehicle left, he realized it did not head towards Thoothukudi but to an undisclosed location instead.

Suspecting foul play, Balusamy immediately contacted the Gundadam police station. The police traced the vehicle and found that the individuals who had orchestrated this were from Thoothukudi. On further investigation, it was revealed that Kanagaraj's son Jebakumar, age 38, and Selvaraj's son Saravanakumar, age 31, had used a fake registration number for the vehicle. They have been arrested, and the stolen onions, along with the vehicle, were seized by Gundadam police. The retrieved onions were returned to the rightful owner, Balusamy.
