Nelliampathy hills - An Ultimate Paradise!

The Nelliampathy hill ranges from 476m to 1572m with about 10 hair pin bends. The route starts from Nenmara, Palakkad and proceeds to Pothundy dam. The breath taking view points and the fauna & flora around the place is nothing less than a paradise!

The magnificent view of the Palakkad Gap, a geographical phenomenon in the Western Ghats formation can be admired from the way enroute to Nelliampathy. It takes around 2.5 hrs from Coimbatore to reach Nelliyampathy through Nenmara, Palakkad.

The terrain is embraced by tea estates, spices and fruit bearing trees. The mesmerising fragrance of cardamom can be felt in the air all over the place. The hills of Nelliyampathy are also well known for its orange cultivation.

Privately owned hotels and resorts are also available. The place is a paradise for the trekkers and naturalist. At Kaikatty, a community hall is available, which is usually used as a base by those interested in trekking.

The Seetharkundu view point gives a picturistic view of the valley and a 100 m high waterfall adds beauty to the place.  From Palagapandy, one can trek or go by jeep to reach Mampara, yet another breathtaking vantage point. The terrain is the habitat for Indian gaur, elephants, leopards, giant squirrel along with diverse varieties of birds.
