Four young men and biking enthusiasts namely, Tony Raj, Vinayak Ram, Vijay Samraj, Ajaykumar of the city, thought of exploring Southern India by taking a road trip. And they hit upon the idea and asked themselves “what better way to explore the magic of the landscapes than driving through it in your mechanical toys, the bikes, with cool winds ruffling your hair, and showers embracing you as you zoom forward in your bikes”.
For the young bunch the idea of exploring the natural beauty of hills and plains in Karnataka and Tamilnadu seemed irresistible.
And then the D day came. Let us listen to the raconteur about what their adventurist road trip had offered.
“We the foursome set out in two bikes CBR 250 and Apache 200 and started early on with the original plan of exploring just the Sathyamangalam reserve forest. But a phone call we received changed it all.”

“We wanted to venture further ahead into Biligirirangana hills (BR Hills) in South East Karnataka. We had a meagre breakfast that we packed, but started exploring BR hills. We then stopped for lunch and then saw the nude Buddha statue. When we craved for food, we ate a delicious Pani poori by the road side.
“It was way too delicious after a riding for hours” said Tony Raj.
On first day, we stayed in petrol pump and the next day we reached our destination - Hampi and had our lunch. We learned so much about the Karnataka a jungle resort stay, but who could tolerate all those mosquito bites.
We stayed in a hotel at night but had to go outside in search of dinner. With the help of Sanjay, we stayed in a hut and had a good breakfast in a road- side shop. It was a delicious fare indeed

On further exploring another side of Hampi, we saw amazing monuments and a electric sunset.
The good hearted people at the petrol pump gave us rooms to stay; but we chose to pitch a tent under lorry crossing zone in the petrol pump.

And then we decided to split our teams in to twos because of one bike needed to go for official work from Anandpura. When we went in search of river to take bath, an old man who passed by warned that bathing in the dam would be a risky business.
Then we reached Gandhikota. On search of a good tent spot, we got good food from a small hotel which was sort of homemade fare or is it tribal food? We also had a chance of meeting new explorers from Chennai who have come all the way travelling by train and bus.
We also got tent stay options for them too.
Then came the most adventurist part of the road trip. We started our trekking at about 8:00pm after the sun set. We spotted a location somewhere and pitched our tent. There was a nonstop rain throughout night, and early in the morning when we woke up to a beautiful sunrise, which greeted us, when we opened our tent.

We just felt Gandhikota was really a heaven. We kept on clicking pictures and enjoyed jumping in between rocks. We then backpacked to horsey hills and on the way to horsey hills there was break down and we had to push the bike for two kilometers in search of a good mechanic.
Later Jagan, the mechanic helped us in two straight minutes and collected just with RS.200. Some electrical problem due to heavy rain. We then started to Bangalore and on the way we stayed in a tent in Andhra Pradesh. We had dinner in the border of Karnataka and Andhra.

We then started early in the morning to Bangalore and did some sort of shopping. We had breakfasted in Hosur and vroomed further. We rested in petrol pump for a while, before reaching Coimbatore our home town.
It was really a road trip worth remembering for life for the sheer beautiful experiences we have had.
