The 66th day of the expedition started off with Mr. Brijesh Kumar, Second Secretary of Press and Culture, from the Indian Embassy. He met the team at the hotel to show them around Vienna. Mr.Brijesh was a man rich with knowledge and experience, the team was grateful to have him. He pointed out all the major sights as the rode the tram, metro and walked around this great city.

Vienna needed at least 2 days to even cover half its expanse, but sadly they had only half a day.
Vienna is often heralded as the "Cultural Capital of Europe" or "capital of classical music". It's a melting pot of music, opera, art, food, and is a major destination for music lovers. It is the land of Mozart. Strauss, Beethoven, Haydn and Berg had all spent time in Austria’s capital and their influence is evident more today than the past. Unfortunately this time around in Vienna the team was not able to enjoy any concerts for the lack of time.
Gustav Klimt, was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects, many of which are on display in the Vienna Secession gallery. Although the team was unable to make it to the Museum to see his work, it was splattered all around the city,
The team was taken to Belvedere palace, opera house, volksgarten, the Parliament building, the UN building and River Danube again- such beautiful sights to drink in with your eye.

After this, they headed back to the hotel to pick up Dhannu to leave for the Indian Embassy. The team was honoured to meet Madam Ambassador Renu Pall. She had organised the ASEAN rally in 2012 and she completely understood and appreciated the time & effort that XPD2470 has put in for this trip. The Embassy had also organised a nice gathering of the Indian Diaspora and other Viennese people who frequently travel to India to meet them. It was such a lovely evening, meeting all of them and talking about their mission and Rotary. They were really touched and humbled by all the love and affection everyone was showering on them.

As the evening came to an end, Her Excellency Ms Renu Pall, Madam Ambassador, flagged them off with the crowd cheering them on. Indeed a great note to end the day!
