The most difficult part about travelling is not the logistics of the trip, its the motivation to come out of our comfort zone and travel to a place unknown. It takes a lot of courage to do it and most of the people fail to pass through.
When I asked people what stops them from travelling, they come up with a list of excuses as to why they cant travel:

I am a girl and my parents wont let me to travel.
I cant afford the trip.
I don't have someone to accompany me.
I have too many responsibilities at home.
I am not sure I could do it.
I would start travelling once I start earning.
With all the fear and doubt, it's easier for someone to stay at their house in his or her comfort zone than to break into travelling to a place unknown. There is a saying in English that goes like "Known Devil is better than Unknown Angel". Home is our safe zone and we know it even though we may not like it always.
Most people stay home and dream of the "Perfect day" when they would finally travel. Let me tell you a harsh truth. That day won't come ever. It will never be perfect.
Tomorrow, you will still have bills to pay.
Tomorrow, you will still have responsibilities.
Tomorrow, you will still have people to accompany you with.
Tomorrow, you would still be your parents little princess.
Tomorrow, you wont have time to travel since you wont get leave at your office to travel.
Tomorrow, you will still have doubts about the trip.
Tomorrow, you will find another reason as to why you can't go.
Tomorrow will come and you will say, "Today is not the right day, lets go tomorrow".
Dropping everything to travel takes a lot of courage, and while many people claim "real world responsibility" are the reason for them not travelling. I think its just the motivation which lacks and also the fear to get out of their comfort zones.
If you are female and fear for your safety, I just want you to know there are fellow female travellers like "Shivya Nath" who travel solo. Parts of your city can be just unsafe like the rest of the world. Using safety precautions, you wont come across any new problems apart from your day to day life problems.
You have the passion for travel, to meet new people, blend in with them and know more about them. The right time to travel is TODAY not tomorrow or any other "Perfect day" in the future.

Don't give excuse for not travelling, just take the leap of faith and kick start your travel journeys and never look back.
