"With the excitation of watching wild animals and also to enjoy the pleasant of riding, we drove our metal birds through the dark roads where only our headlight were the guide available to us.”
Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century.
We had just two hours to enjoy the beauty of Munnar(we were in short of time) before starting our journey to our next destination, Vagamon.

The places which we could visit in that short time are:
1)Mattupetty Dam:

Distance: 11.3 kms from Munnar
Description: The view above the dam is magnificent with a pool of water on one side and mountains on the other. The place was filled with small vendors selling some snacks.
2) Echo Point:

Distance: 18 kms from Munnar
Description: With theview of the water stored in dam before you, Echo point offers to be a nice relaxation spot as well.
At Echo Point, we had our photo shoot session. I had to take a nice rest, since this was the first time I travelled this much distance entirely in a bike without ample rest

We left by 4:15 PM towards Vagamon. We actually traveled in a V direction to reach Echo Point. We tried google to navigate to Vagamon in a shortest possible direction and there was an Off-road available for us.
We took that route and were proceeding in that direction. There was no one for some distance and the route was bit bumpy but was a sweet Off road experience.

We reached the outskirts of Munnar by 5 PM. More 94.1 kms and three and half hours to reach. With the excitation of watching wild animals and also to enjoy the pleasant of riding, we drove our metal birds through the dark roads where only our headlight were the guide available to us.

We stopped around 7 PM for a gas refill and then decided to travel to Elapara since we where in a dilemma whether food would be available at Vagamon at 9:30 PM.
We reached Elapara by 9:45 PM and had our dinners. It hardy took as 45 mins to complete dinner and continued on our journey. We reached the cottage we booked for stay by 11 PM at Vagamon.
With this, we come to an end of first day of an epic journey with “Riders of Metal Birds” from Coimbatore. The rest of the story is continued in next part...
