Coimbatore: Suguna PIP school clinched the overall championship in the 41st State-level Inter-school basketball tournament, organised by the Sahodaya School Complex, at the Suguna PIP school grounds in the city on Sunday.
Coimbatore: Suguna PIP school clinched the overall championship in the 41st State-level Inter-school basketball tournament, organised by the Sahodaya School Complex, at the Suguna PIP school grounds in the city on Sunday.
By securing top place in four various categories for both boys and girls, Suguna PIP towered above the rest in the championship. More than 1000 students of about 87 schools from various parts of the State took part in the tournament conducted for both boys and girls in the age categories of Under 14, 16 and 19 years.
In the Boys Under 14 category, CS Academy, Coimbatore and Erode secured the top two places while National Model School, Coimbatore has secured first place in the Under 16 Boys category and Suguna PIP secured the second place. In the Under 19 boys category, CS Academy, Erode and SSVM, Mettupalayam were the winners.
In the Girls category, Suguna PIP secured the first place in the Under 14 years category and National Model school came in second place in the under 16 category. National Model school emerged as winners and Suguna PIP as runners in the 19 years category, while Suguna PIP school were Champions of the tournament followed by Navabharath school in second place.
K Navamani, President of the Sahodaya School Complex, Coimbatore, along with the Joint Secretary, P S Martin awarded the prizes to the winners of the tournament. The function was presided over by L Suguna, President of the Suguna PIP School.
