Coimbatore: Pradeep from Tirupur has been crowned Mr. Muscle Mania in the third state-level Open Body Building Championship 'Muscle Mania,' conducted by the Nehru Group of Institutions, in association with the Tamil Nadu Fitness Association, on Sunday.
Coimbatore: Pradeep from Tirupur has been crowned Mr. Muscle Mania in the third state-level Open Body Building Championship 'Muscle Mania,' conducted by the Nehru Group of Institutions, in association with the Tamil Nadu Fitness Association, on Sunday.
Around 180 men including 2 women participated in the Championship which was organised under various categories such as Men - Below 23 years in the Juniors category under 60, 70 and 80 kgs and above 23 years in the senior category under 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 and 80+ kgs.
The women contested in a single category ranging from 40 kg. This apart, a competition for men with good physique and body was also conducted. In the women's category, Jaya from Chennai clinched the Ms. Muscle Mania title.
In the Men's Junior category, Prasanth from Coimbatore, Ragul from Salem, Thavaseelan from Coimbatore won the title in 50,60,70 kg categories respectively. In the Men's Senior category, Brightson (Kanyakumari), M Pradeep (Coimbatore), V Prasanth (Coimbatore), M Dinesh Babu (Trichy), Pradeep (Tirupur), R Thavaseelan (Coimbatore) won the title in their respective categories.
In the Women's category, Jaya (Chennai) and Shruthi (Chennai) won the first and second places in the above 40 kg category.
K Periaiah, IG West Zone was the Chief Guest along with A Muralidharan, Director (PR) of Nehru Group of Institutions and State Vice President of the Tamilnadu Weight Lifters’ Association, and S Jagannathan, General Secretary of Tamil Nadu Fitness Association. Periaiah presented the cash awards and certificates to the winners of the Championship.
