Coimbatore: Making the city proud are shooters from Coimbatore who have qualified for the National Shooting Championship to be held at Jaipur in November. The shooters are N Nivetha, N Keerthana, K S Senthil Kumar and B Ramesh Kumar of Coimbatore Rifle Club who won seven medals, including three gold and four bronze medals in the recently concluded qualifying round for the National Shooting Championship conducted by the Telangana Rifle Association at SATS Shooting Range, University of Hyderabad.

N Nivetha bagged the gold in the individual trap (109/125), N Keerthana won bronze in the individual skeet junior women and a bronze in the individual skeet women (85/125) in the women's category. In the men's category, K S Senthil Kumar won two bronze medals, one in individual trap and one in team trap (109/125),
and B Ramesh Kumar bagged two gold medals.

Tamil Nadu thus stood in second place with a silver medal in the overall points table with 329 points, while Telangana secured gold by scoring 348 overall points in the 10th South Zone Shooting Championship, in which more than 100 shooters from South Zone participated.
