Coimbatore: PSG College of Arts and Science has won the second consecutive trophy in the Bharathiar University Inter Zone Men's football tournament held at PSG CAS, here on Sunday.
Coimbatore: PSG College of Arts and Science has won the second consecutive trophy in the Bharathiar University Inter Zone Men's football tournament held at PSG CAS, here on Sunday.
The matches were conducted on a round robin basis. The top two teams from each zone participated in the tournament. PSG CAS has won all the matches in the league stage to take the top position in the tournament.
In the final league match, PSG faced Sri Narayana Guru College of Arts and Science and sealed the opponent by 5-0. By winning the match against SNGC, PSG remained unbeaten in the tournament. Bharathiar University College of Arts and Science, Gudalur, secured the second place. The third and fourth places were bagged by VLB and SNGC respectively.
Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners by Dr K Vadivelu, Physical Director, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science along with Dr. B Navaneethan, Physical Director of PSG CAS. The selection trials for the players was conducted and those selected will play for the Bharathiar University team too, in the South Zone Inter University tournament to be held later this year.
