In the finals between PKR arts college for women and Kalasalingam university, Viruthunagar, the former sealed the opponents without any struggle by 2-0.
In yet another match, PSGR Krishnammal college for women defeated Avinashilingam University (2-0) without taking the match into the decider for the third place.
Top 8 college teams from various part of Tamil Nadu took part in the one day state level tournament.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Saroja Prabakaran, Director of Avinashilingam educational trust.
Dr. Anantha lakshmi, Inspector of physical education, Coimbatore district presented the cash prize and trophies to the winners. Associate professor Dr. P Shanmugavalli and physical director Dr. P Nandhini were present in the prize distribution.
This is the 3rd Avinashilingam Ayya memorial trophy, an invitation state level tournament. Top teams from various district have been invited and participated in the tournament.
As an initiative to make eco- friendly environment, players were presented with wooden medals instead of the regular ones, said Dr. P Nandhini, Physical Director.
