Coimbatore : The PSG College of Arts and Science retained the Bharathiar University inter-collegiate basketball trophy by beating GRD College of Arts and Science in the finals on Sunday, at the indoor stadium in PSG College of Arts and Science.
Coimbatore : The PSG College of Arts and Science retained the Bharathiar University inter-collegiate basketball trophy by beating GRD College of Arts and Science in the finals on Sunday, at the indoor stadium in PSG College of Arts and Science.
About 32 teams from various colleges competed for the trophy hosted between September 14 to 16. In a cliffhanger of a tournament final, both teams showcased their talent and fought hard for the trophy. But the defending champions took a six points lead to seal the opponents by 92-86 to clinch the trophy.
Dr. S T N Rajeshwaran, the Director of Physical Education, Bharathiar University, presented the trophy to the winners and runners up of the tournament. Dr. K Vadivelu, Physical Director of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Dr. B Navaneethan, Physical Director of PSG and Dr. R Soundararajan, Asst. Physical Director of PSG were present at the prize distribution.
