Coimbatore : Vijaya bank from Bangalore and Chennai's Income tax team have qualified for the finals in the PSG Trophy - 54th All India basketball tournament at the PSG Tech Indoor Sports complex here on Wednesday.

It was a nip and tuck match between Indian Bank and Income Tax, until the victors took the lead in the last quarter to win the first semi finals today. Though Indian bank was leading till the third quarter by 51-56, in the last quarter of the match income tax attacked the opponent and went ahead of Indian Bank which ultimately helped them to reach finals 64-66.
Jeeva Nandham of Income tax scored 21 points for their side.
In the second semi finals, Vijaya Bank defeated Indian Railways with ease to enter finals. Being unbeaten in the tournament, Vijaya bank exhibited their skills to perfection and dominated the opponents right from the start. Vijaya bank defeated Indian Railways by 28 points (64-92).

At the end if the day, Vijaya bank and Income tax teams will play the finals on Thursday by 6 p.m.
Coimbatore City Police Commissioner K Periaiah will be the chief guest for the finals and distribute prizes.
The winner will be awarded Rs 1 lakh, runners-up with Rs.50000 and the third and fourth place will be awarded Rs. 25000 and and Rs.15000 respectively.​
