PSG Trophy Day 2: Big win for Indian Army

Coimbatore : After losing the first match against Indian bank, Chennai, the Indian army team came back strong and defeated ICF, Chennai with a huge lead and bounced back in the PSG Trophy-All India Basketball Tournament which commenced last Sunday.

Coimbatore : After losing the first match against Indian bank, Chennai, the Indian army team came back strong and defeated ICF, Chennai with a huge lead and bounced back in the PSG Trophy-All India Basketball Tournament which commenced last Sunday.



The first match on day 2 was played between ICF, Chennai and Indian army, in which Indian army team sealed ICF by 44 points. (Indian army defeated ICF 88-44). Nalla Guru of Indian army was the top scorer, he secured 18 points.

In another match between Indian Railways and Airforce, the former registered their second victory in the tournament. Though Indian Air force took 10 points lead at the end of the first half (34-24), Indian army started their attack anf took up the lead in the last quarter of the match and defeated Indian Air force by 13 points (60-73).



The third match of the day was played between Customs, Kerala and Income tax, Chennai. It was Customs team who dominated the Income tax from the beginning till the end. The Customs team comfortably won by 7 points to register their first victory.



The last match of day two was played between Vijaya Bank, Bangalore and Indian Bank, in which Vijaya bank clinched their second victory in the tournament. 



Vijaya bank defeated Indian Bank with a healthy 20 points lead. It was a lazy start for Vijaya bank, as they gave up the lead in the first quarter, however they came back into the game very effectively to defeat Indian Bank. Vijaya bank defeated Indian Bank by (85-65).
