Coimbatore: Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) won the Anna University Zone IX Cricket tournament held at Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology in the city on Friday. Around 19 teams participated in a knock out tournament for the trophy.

In the final match played between Shakthi college and PSG Tech, batting first Sri Shakthi scored a healthy total of 157/7. Preetham top scored with 50, followed by kabin sanjay 45 and Mithunchandar 33. PSG TECH could only make 135/6 in their stipulated overs and SIET won the match by 22 runs and lifted the trophy. This is the second trophy for SIET in this year.
Dr. S Chelladurai, the Chairman of Anna University Sports Board presented the trophy to the winners. Dr. S Thangavelu, Chairman of Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology and Ramaswami Krishnan, CEO of Egger pumps were present in the prize distribution ceremony.​
