Coimbatore: The National Level All India Tennis Association's (AITA) tennis championship is being hosted in the city by K.G. Ramesh Tennis Academy at the Guna Sports Complex from September 3 to 7. More than 90 players from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Odisha, Telangana and Gujarat participated in the qualifier-round which was held on September 1 and 2.

About 64 players are taking part in the main draw of the Championship. The winners of the tournament will be awarded the AITA ranking. The tournament will be conducted under categories such as men's singles, men's doubles, women's singles and women's doubles. A total cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh will be presented to the winners of the tournament. The tournament is sponsored by ESSEMM Corporation.
