Coimbatore: Vishnu Prasad and Rahul Rangasamy have taken the lead in the second round of the 21st JK Tyre National Level Racing Championship 2018 held at Kari motor speedway, in the outskirts of the city on Sunday.
Coimbatore: Vishnu Prasad and Rahul Rangasamy have taken the lead in the second round of the 21st JK Tyre National Level Racing Championship 2018 held at Kari motor speedway, in the outskirts of the city on Sunday.

The JK Tyre Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) conducted the National Racing Championship 2018 for two categories - LGB Formula 4 and Euro JK 18 for cars, and Suzuki Gixxer Cup and Redbull Rookie Cup for two-wheelers. Racers from Coimbatore, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kerala thronged the tracks for the Championship.
In the first race of the LGB Formula 4 Car Racing Championship, Vishnu Prasad (Chennai) stormed Rahul Rangasamy ( Chennai) to finish first in the race. But in the 2nd race, it was Rahul who took the lead over Vishnu to finish first. Weathering a steamy day, Rahul and Rohit were tough competitors to Vishnu. "I am very happy with my position in the race," said Vishnu Prasad. "The young talented drivers raced intelligently," he added.
There was a collision in Lap 4 between Nabil Hussain of Chennai and Shivani Pruthvi of Bangalore. The injured drivers were rushed to hospital. In an intense battle in the first race of the Euro JK '18, Chennai's Ashwin Datta finished first with a healthy lead while Mumbai’s Nayan Chatterjee stormed Karthik Tharani of Chennai to take his well-deserved second place.
But in the second race of the championship Ashwin Datta was pushed to the third place, while Bryan Perera took the lead and Nayan Chatterjee finished second in the race.

Joseph Matthew, Syed Muzammil Ali and and Sachin Choudhary were the other motorists who won their races comfortably for the Suzuki Gixxer Cup.
