Chennai: Chennai girls Varsha and her partner Sweta grabbed a coveted silver medal in the 49er FX Women sailing event in the ongoing Asian games being held at Indonesia. At the end of 15 rounds, the pair scored 44 points and clinched the second spot. India stands in the 8th spot at the Asian games with 13 gold, 22 silver and 28 bronze medals in its tally.

Born and brought up in Podanur, Gowtham Padmanabhan did his school at Carmel Garden and an alumni of PSG college of arts and science, Coimbatore. The family shifted to Chennai when Varsha was 4 yrs old.
