Coimbatore: Around 60 students from various schools from the City took part in the nation-wide quiz competition organised by Shaastra 2018, the annual technical festival of the IIT Madras, here on Saturday.
Coimbatore: Around 60 students from various schools from the City took part in the nation-wide quiz competition organised by Shaastra 2018, the annual technical festival of the IIT Madras, here on Saturday.
The students belonging to class 8-10, were quizzed on questions pertaining to technology, general knowledge and logical reasoning. Following which, five teams were short listed for the finals. Monish Kiran and Dinesh from Suguna International and Public school topped in the quiz competition. Students of Suguna PIP: Gokul Gokul Adethya and Aaethesh Vikram secured the second place and Harshavardhan, Nikilesh won the third place. Pranav, Bharath and Karthickeyan and Asuthosh Gupta both won Fourth and Fifth place respectively. All the participants were from class 10 students.

Even those participants who failed to make it to the finals thoroughly enjoyed the competition, as it threw light on various knowledge related information. Poovanan, Principal of Suguna PIP School addressed the students and appreciated their participation. He stressed the runners to stay updated on technology and general knowledge on a regular basis. He also presented participation certificates to all participants. All the top five teams which got selected for the finals would be sent to the next round called 'K study.'
According to a source , the winners from the K study round will be participating in the final round to be held at IIT Madras.
