Coimbatore: State level Inter school cricket tournament 'Sri Shakthi Super T-20' is being organised by Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology here in the city from August 6.
A total of 34 teams across Tamil Nadu are participating in the tournament. Out of the 34 teams eight teams were qualified to the quarter finals of the tournament.
In the pre quarter finals Coimbatore schools - Sri Jayendra Sarasawathy Vidhyalaya, RK Sree Rangammal Kalvi Nilayam and National model school from Coimbatore have qualified for the quarter finals.
In the match between Sri Jeyandra Saraswathi, Coimbatore and Chettinad Vidya Mandir, Karur, Hari Shankar of Jayendra Sarasawathy Vidhyalaya scored an unbeaten 101 which helped them to score 213 for loss of just two wickets. While, Chettinad Vidya Mandir were all out for 48.
In a separate match between RKS and PSBB, batting first RKS scored 157 for 3 in 20 overs (Thikesh of RKS scored 71) PSBB CBE scored 50 for 6 in 20 overs.
A total prize worth around Rs.2 lakh will be distributed to the winners of the tournament. The winner will get a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh and runners will be awarded with Rs. 50,000.
