Coimbatore: Nehru Air Rifle Academy along with NGO 'Swarga Foundation' launched a free training in air rifle and pistol shooting for differently-abled people here, on Saturday.
Nehru Air Rifle Academy will provide free lifetime membership to disabled people for learning rifle shooting. The motive of this initiative is to provide an opportunity to those affected with muscular disorders to feel inclusive and lead a complete life.
"The training will help the disabled people to strengthen their upper body, improve focus, balance and coordination and also instill courage and confidence in them. Especially, this training will largely benefit those affected by neuro-muscular disorders", said Mr. Ajay Athithan, Secretary of rifle club.
Nehru Rifle Shooting Academy was inaugurated in January 2018 by Dr. C Sylendra Babu IPS with international standards and wheelchair friendly shooting range, the academy will be open on all weekdays (3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) except Tuesday.
A batch of ten trainees can participate at a time.
