Coimbatore: Ahead of the 58th Tamil Nadu police sports & games meet, the torch relay for the meet which began at Chennai Police headquarters reached Coimbatore West zone today.
On July 24, the Chennai City Police Commissioner, AK Viswanathan flagged off a torch rally for the 58th Tamil Nadu police sports & games meet. The sports meet has been scheduled from July 27 to July 29.
The 58th Tamil Nadu police sports & games meet will kick off at Anna Stadium in Trichy on July 27. The torch relay for the game which began at Chennai Police headquarters on July 24 reached Coimbatore West zone today.
The torch was handed over to West zone IG A. Paari. Then, the torch relay commenced at Coimbatore West zone police office which was jointly flagged off by IG A. Paari, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, K. Periaiah and Superintendent of Police, Moorthy.
The relay ended at VOC ground. From Coimbatore, the torch will be carried to Madurai from where it will be taken to Trichy.
