Coimbatore: At the finals of GRG Basketball Championship, girls from Chennai’s MOP Vaishnava College emerged as winners. A cash prize of Rs. 25,000 along with the overall championship trophy was accordded to them.

City’s PSG Arts and Science College and MOP Vaishnava challenged each other and gave a tough fight at the finals held here, The later, scored 68 points against PSG’s 48 points. The third prize was grabbed by PSGR Krishnammal College for Women and the fourth place was held by Hindusthan College, Chennai.
The championship held as a part of the Centenary celebrations of GRG Trust, the tournament witnessed players from top colleges including Chennai MOB Vaishnava College for women, Ethiraj College from Chennai, Lady Loak College from Madurai and PSGR Krishnammal College from Coimbatore competed in Group A.
PSG College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore, Hindusthan University, Chennai, Women’s Christian College in Chennai and Namakkal Pavai Engineering College would be competing in Group B.
Each team played three matches in the league stages starting from July 18. In the three-day tournament, Scores:
