Coimbatore: An athletic meet was conducted by Tamil Development Department and Arts and Culture department at Nehru Indoor stadium today to mark the 50th anniversary of naming the state 'Tamil Nadu' from erstwhile Madras state.
Coimbatore: An athletic meet was conducted by Tamil Development Department and Arts and Culture department at Nehru Indoor stadium today to mark the 50th anniversary of naming the state 'Tamil Nadu' from erstwhile Madras state.
More than 120 students from various schools and colleges participated in the athletic events that that was held for athletes under 21 years old.
Students who emerged winners are awarded a cash prize of Rs.2500. The 1st and 2nd runner-ups are awarded Rs.1500 and Rs.1000 respectively. Students who emerged as the winner and 1st runner-up in the events will participate in the state level athletic meet which will be held in Chennai on July 23.
