Coimbatore: Coimbatore girl, Megha achieved 17th spot in the 21st National Racing Championship held at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, yesterday.
More than 60 racers from Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai and Delhi had participated in the 21st National Racing Championship in which Chennai racer, Vishnu Prasad came first in the first round of LGB 4 category.

The 21-year old debut racer from Coimbatore, Megha is an Engineering student of Kumaraguru College of Technology, here. She garnered the attention of the spectators by emerging 17th in her category that comprised of 24 racers.

Speaking regarding this, Megha said, " The two-week intensive training prior to the race reallly helped me a lot. Yet, I was a little nervous as this was my debut race. It was a thrilling and competing experience to tackle the situation real-time. I am glad to have emerged in the 17th position".

"More women should come forward to take part in races and shatter the stereotyping", she added.
Seconding her comment, Vishnu Prasad expressed that, "The women racers gave a tough competition to the men. Usually, it is believed that only men could take part in formula car races but these women participants have achieved good positions have and cleared the misconception. Am sure they would emerge victorious in the finals to be held on July 7".
