Coimbatore: Chennai Customs clinched victory in the 53rd Nachimuthu Gounder Cup, held at the VOC Park basketball ground here.
In the men’s category finals, Chennai Customs team emerged with a 69-63 victory against Indian Railways, Delhi. Chennai Customs team was awarded Nachimuthu Gounder Rolling trophy along with a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.

Indian Railway, Delhi which secured the second spot was awarded Dr.Mahalingam Trophy and a cash prize of Rs.50,000. A.S.C Bangalore and Indian Air Force, New Delhi were provided with a consolation prize of Rs.15,000 each.

In the women’s category finals, KSEB Thiruvananthapuram emerged with a 59-43 victory against Eastern Railways, Kolkata. KSEB Thiruvananthapuram was awarded CRI Pumps Rolling Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs.50,000.

Runners-up Eastern Railways, Kolkata was awarded Rs.25,000 and a rolling trophy. Kerala Police, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tamil Nadu Juniors were awarded with consolation prizes.
