K. Sathish Kumar, Standard X student of Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School, has emerged winner in the State-level badminton tournament that was held in Vellore recently. It was organised by the School Education Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
School students from across 20 districts in Tamil Nadu participated. Having won the tournament, Sathish is now qualified to participate in the national-level badminton tourament.
He has earlier won the Chief Minister's Trophy of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu and was awarded a purse of Rs. 5,000.
