The R.S.Puram Club Badminton Association won the state-level Badminton tournament after 25 years here. The tournament is hosted by the R.S. Puram Club every year. This year, in the finals, R.S.Puram Club played against the Himalaya team from Tirupur and the won the match in two straight sets with a score of 35-32 and 37-35. The third and fourth places were bagged by S.R.M University team and Thiruvottriyur Club from Chennai respectively.
The winning team received a cash prize of Rs. 16,000 and a trophy, followed by the Tiruppur team receiving Rs. 12.000 as cash prize for the second place. And a cash prize of Rs. 8000 each was given for the third and fourth places.
Eleven teams from across Tamil Nadu participated in the event.
