At the grand finale of 53rd All India Basket Ball Tournament for Men held at PSG College, Indian Overseas Bank team won the Championship trophy by defeating Indian Army team by 17 points.
The players of the Indian Overseas bank team excelled the game by scoring 77 points against Indian Army team who scored 59 points securing second position.
The third and fourth positions were secured by Punjab Police team (95 points) and Vijaya Bank team (72 points).
Mr. L. Gopalakrishnan Managing Trustee PSG Institutions presided over the final day function in the presence of Mr.G.Selvaraj President, Coimbatore District Basketball Association, Joint Managing Director of C.R.I.Pumps, Guest of Honor and Dr.R.Rudramoorthy President, PSG Sports Club.
Mr. D.Lakshminarayanaswamy, President Coimbatore District Cricket Association and Joint Managing Trustee of SNR Charitable Trustee, who was the Chief Guest, distributed the prizes to the winning teams.
A cash prize of Rs. One Lakh and the PSG Rolling Trophy was awarded to IOB team which won the championship, Rs. 50,000 was given to the runner Indian Army. Punjab Police which was placed Third received Rs.25,000 while the fourth placed Vijaya Bank received Rs.15,000. Best player award Rs.10, 000 was given to Vicky Hooda, Indian Army team.
