Keeping their foots forward against odds, two teams that participated in the Veterans’ Football tournament held in Madukkarai have qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament here.
This is the third edition of the tournament, organised by the Madukkarai Veteran’s Football Association and is being held in the ACC grounds in Madukkarai.
On the second day of the tournament, which was inaugurated on Friday by K.V. Reddy, Director of Plant of ACC Cement Works, Madukkarai, two teams including M.R. Veterans Football Club (VFC) and Ruby Digital VFC have been qualified for the semi finals.
They will face the winners of the quarterfinals, which is to be held later on Saturday. Other teams including Covai United VFC, Kannur VFC and Power House VFC are in contention for the semis.
Meanwhile, the semi-finals and finals of the tournament would be held on Sunday.
As many as 17 teams from various districts in Tamil Nadu and Kerala participated in the three days knock out tournament.
