Three teams from various parts of South India emerged victorious in the South Indian Level Five-A-Side Football tournament held at Rathinam Group of Institutions’ campus in Coimbatore here on Monday.

The teams competed in league and knockout stages in the tournament under three categories. While Dhanam Football Association from Coimbatore won the under-10 category and Global Football Club from Kannur, Kerala won the under-12 category, Neyveli Soccer Association won the under-14 category.

Teams from First Kick Football Club became runners in both under-10 and under-12 categories and Nysa Football Club from Cuddalore became runners in the under-14 category. All the finals were decided by shootout.

According to S. Sathish Kumar, one of the organisers from Rathinam Group of Institutions that organised this tournament, as many as 68 teams from various Districts in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka competed in the tournament that was held for three days between 12th and 14th of August.
While the league matches were held on 12th and 13th, knockout matches were held on Monday (14th).

The winners were presented with trophies. Consolation prizes were also provided to the runners, third place runners and fourth place runners. All the participating teams were given certificates.
Best performers were also felicitated in all the three categories.
