In the semifinals of 52nd Nachimuthu Gounder cup for Men Income Tax team scored victory over Indian railways by scoring 77-66.
In the second semifinals Indian Overseas Bank team defeated Indian Air force Team by scoring 82/63.
The Income Tax tem and IOB team are to clash in the much expected finals. In CRI Pumps cup for women, Chhattisgarh team entered the finals after defeating the Central Railways team. The former would clash with South Central Railway, which won the other semifinals.

In the ongoing Basketball Tourney, as many as eight leading teams of the country have vied for the honors including Income Tax - Chennai, Indian Air Force - Delhi, Sports Authority of Gujarat & Central Reserve Police Force - Delhi, and (Pool B) Indian Overseas Bank - Chennai, Indian Railway - Delhi, Indian Navy - Lonavala and Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA), Coimbatore are to take part in All Indian Basketball tournament.

For the Women's tournament, the eight teams including South Central Railway - Secunderabad, Southern Railway - Chennai, Eastern Railway - Kolkata& Arise Steel – Chennai, KSEB - Thiruvananthapuram, Chhattisgarh State - Bilaspur, North Frontier Railway - Guwahati and Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA), Coimbatore are to take part.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning team. While Rs. 1,00,000 would awarded to Nachimuthu Gounder Cup Winner, Rs. 50,000 would be given to the winning team of C.R.I. Pumps Trophy
CCMC Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan, IAS would, Commissioner and Special Officer, Coimbatore Corporation will be the chief guest of the prize distribution function. While VV.Raja Sathyan, President – Tamilnadu Basket Ball Association has kindly consented to be the Guest of Honour of the inauguration of the event.
