Marking the 28th Sub-junior National Kabbadi Championship


The 28th Sub-junior National Kabaddi Championship for Boys and Girls – 2017, was held at the CMS College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore. It was conducted in association with the Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Association and Coimbatore District Amateur Kabaddi Association from the 13th to the 16th of April. 27 Boys and 27 Girls’ teams from across India battled it out to win the coveted trophies. Day one saw teams play in the league matches prior to the knock out stage. The knock out stage was pervaded with healthy aggression that is part and parcel of this beautiful game.



Amongst the boys, in the final match against Uttar Pradesh, The SAI (Sports Authority of India) won the match with a score of 49 – 20 and lifted the trophy. Amongst the girls, Haryana won the final match with a score of 21 – 15 and took home the much sought after cup. The Third place was shared by Tamil Nadu & Himachal Pradesh.

 

The prize distribution ceremony was held on 16th April 2017. Shri. Tejavi Singh Gehlot, President of the Rajasthan Kabaddi Association; Shri. B.Ravikumar, Treasurer of the CMS Trust & Shri. Dinesh Patel, General Secretary of the AKFI took part in the valedictory function along with other members of TNAKA. The winning trophy was conferred to the captains of SAI & Haryana by Shri. Tejavi Singh Gehlot.
