Tirupur: Military training schools from six states, including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala participated in the South India-level football tournament which was held at the Sainik Military Training School under the Ministry of Defence at Amaravathi Nagar near Udumalpet in Tirupur district on June 26.
In the Sub-junior category, Udumalai Amaravathi Sainik School and Andhra Sainik School faced each other in the final. Amaravathi Sainik School, Udumalpet won the match with a scoreline of 2:1.
Similarly, in the Junior division final, Andhra Sainik School and Kerala Sainik School defeated Andhra Pradesh by 5:1.
The winning teams were felicitated by the school Principal, Captain Indian Navy Manikandan with certificates and trophies.
During the award ceremony, the students of Amaravathi Nagar Military Training School regaled the audience with impressive cultural performances and parades.
